Safety Takes Priority as ASTON Gejayan Trains Emergency Readiness Through Fire Drill Simulation

ASTON Gejayan Yogyakarta Hotel & Conference Center held a Training and Fire Drill Simulation on 11 May 2026 to boost preparedness and workplace safety in the hotel environment. The event, conducted in cooperation with the Sleman Regency Fire Department, was attended by staff from all hotel departments. Sumarjono from Damkar Sleman served as the main speaker, providing education on initial fire response, the use of fire extinguishers (APAR), evacuation procedures, and a live fire emergency simulation. The aim was for participants to understand rapid and correct actions in a workplace emergency. The activity combined theory with practical field sessions and included a full-scale evacuation drill to strengthen inter-team coordination, making responses more agile and structured in real emergencies. Marina, the HR Manager of ASTON Gejayan, said the activity is an important part of building a culture of workplace safety. ‘Guest safety and the safety of all staff are our top priorities. Through this training and simulation, we hope all staff have the readiness and understanding to handle emergencies.’ Through the event, ASTON Gejayan hopes to continue raising safety standards and to create a safer, more comfortable working environment prepared to handle various emergency situations.
