Safari Park gets snow monkeys
BOGOR: Six snow monkeys (Macaca fuscata) from Japan were released on Tuesday in conjunction with the inauguration of the Gunma Safari Park inside the grounds of the Indonesian Safari Park in Cisarua, Bogor.
The red face monkeys, one of whom is male, were sent from the Nasu Primate Center in Yokohama, Japan, on Dec. 3.
The inauguration of the new park will form part of the 12th South East Asia Zoo Association (SEAZA) Annual Conference being held at the Indonesian Safari Park from Dec. 8 to 11. The conference is titled "Capacity Building Through Cooperation".
The conference, chaired by SEAZA chairman Sen Pisit na Patalung, is being attended by zoo operators from the European countries, Australia, the United States, and Asian countries such as Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan and South Korea. -- Antara
