Saepul Sells Mutilation Victim's Belongings on Facebook: PCX Motorcycle and Mobile Phone Offered Cheaply
Police have revealed that Saepul (26), the perpetrator of the murder and mutilation of a man with the initials K (51) in a rented room in Depok, West Java, made off with the victim’s belongings. Saepul then sold the victim’s items through Facebook.
“Based on the examination results, the suspect sold the victim’s belongings through the Facebook marketplace,” said Kompol Dimitri Mahendara, Unit 1 Head of the Mobile Investigation Sub-Directorate at Polda Metro Jaya, when contacted on Sunday (9/8/2026).
Dimitri said Saepul sold the victim’s belongings cheaply. The money from the sales was used for daily living expenses.
“The Honda PCX motorcycle was sold for Rp 9.9 million, while the OPPO Reno 5 mobile phone was sold for Rp 950,000. The total proceeds from the sale amounted to Rp 10,850,000. According to the suspect’s statement, the money from the sale was then used for daily needs,” he explained.
For context, Saepul killed K, whom he met through a community app for same-sex individuals, at his rented room in the Cipayung area of Depok on 23 July 2026. Saepul then mutilated K’s body and disposed of the legs in the Licin River, Depok.
The victim’s body was placed in a sack. The sack containing the body had been lying on vacant land in Depok since 24 July 2026. Residents had no idea the sack contained human remains, until finally on Tuesday, 4 August, residents took the initiative to burn the sack, which they thought contained rubbish.
Saepul has now been named a suspect and is being held at the Polda Metro Jaya detention centre. For his heinous act, Saepul faces the death penalty.
Chronology of the Incident
Polda Metro Jaya Head of Public Relations, Kombes Budi Hermanto, explained that K initially became acquainted with the perpetrator Saepul through social media. The acquaintance continued until the two agreed to meet at a rented room in the Cipayung area of Depok.
“Saepul (SA) and the victim became acquainted through social media before agreeing to meet at a rented room in the Cipayung area on 23 July 2026,” Budi told reporters on Wednesday (5/8).
The meeting between the two apparently led to an argument. Following this argument, Saepul then killed K by stabbing him with a knife.
“The meeting ended in an argument until the perpetrator stabbed the victim in the stomach and slit his neck using a knife,” Budi explained.
After ensuring K was dead, Saepul attempted to cover his tracks. Saepul then cut off the victim’s thighs, then wrapped them separately from the victim’s body using sacks.
“The perpetrator mutilated the victim’s body at the thighs, wrapped the body using black plastic and sacks, then disposed of the victim’s body in the Tanah Merah area, while the two legs were disposed of in a river stream in the Pitara area, Pancoran Mas,” Budi said.
After disposing of the body, Saepul immediately made off with K’s motorcycle. He took it to the Panimbang area, Pandeglang, Banten, then sold it.
