Sade Village Fire: PNM Assists Mekaar Clients Through Difficult Times

PT Permodalat Nasional Madani (PNM) has distributed aid to residents affected by a recent fire in the Sade Traditional Village, Rembitan, Pujut District, Central Lombok Regency.

Previously, the fire consumed hundreds of traditional Sasak houses. Residents fled to save themselves without being able to salvage their belongings. Houses, weaving looms, production outputs, and craft kiosks were all destroyed by the flames. This situation has left many residents without both homes and their primary sources of income.

Sade Traditional Village is one of the cultural tourism villages in Lombok. Many women in the area run small businesses, including PNM Mekaar clients who rely on weaving crafts as a family income source. The fire has brought these business activities to a standstill. The traditional Sasak songket fabrics and shawls, which are the primary craft products, were also impacted by the blaze.

In response to this situation, PNM distributed aid to support the affected residents. This assistance is part of PNM’s effort to accompany its clients until conditions gradually recover.

“We want to ensure that when the community is in a difficult situation, PNM does not only arrive with aid, but also remains with them until conditions gradually recover. After emergency needs are met, we will continue to assess further requirements, including how clients can resume their activities and businesses,” said the President Director of PNM, Kindaris, in a statement on Monday (31/08/2026).

This spirit is being implemented by PNM Peduli in the Sade Traditional Village by first identifying the most urgent needs on the ground. Before the distribution took place, the team went directly to the field to ensure that the support provided truly addressed the needs of the clients and the affected community, rather than merely sending general aid packages.

From this mapping, household equipment emerged as one of the primary needs. Almost all equipment for cooking, eating, drinking, and daily activities was destroyed along with the burnt houses.

For residents who lost almost all their household contents, this equipment is a vital necessity to resume daily activities. The aid also serves as an initial step in the recovery process following the fire.

The presence of PNM Peduli in the Sade Traditional Village is a rapid response to the conditions of the affected clients, while also considering the real needs on the ground. PNM Peduli distributed the aid less than one week after the fire occurred. The assistance was given directly to the affected residents based on the needs identified in the field.
