Visitors were startled when a sacrificial cow escaped at Jalan Sudirman in Sidiangkat Village, Sidikalang Subdistrict, Dairi Regency, causing swimming pool patrons to flee in panic. According to a viral amateur video reported by detikSumut on Friday, 29 May 2026, the cow broke free from its tether during slaughter preparations and ran into the pool area. Onlookers scattered to avoid being trampled. Raja Ardin Ujung, the cow’s owner, stated the incident occurred on Wednesday, 27 May. ‘While preparing for slaughter, the cow escaped,’ he told detikSumut via mobile phone. He added that when the sacrificial committee tried to chase it, the animal entered the crowded swimming pool area. ‘The cow ran into the pool,’ he said.
