SAC presents painting exhibition, responding to global dynamics and unity

The SBY Art Community (SAC) is presenting a painting exhibition titled “Art for Peace and a Better Future: Collaboration” to celebrate the 81st anniversary of Indonesian independence and to respond to global dynamics while strengthening the spirit of togetherness and optimism for a better future.

“The theme of peace and aspirations for a better world was chosen as the main focus to respond to global dynamics and the need for solidarity,” said SAC 2026 Exhibition Coordinating Chairman Ediwan Prabowo at a press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Ediwan continued that the organisers hope this exhibition can serve as social inspiration, strengthen the spirit of togetherness, and foster optimism for a better future.

“This is in line with the vision of Indonesia’s 6th President, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, who wishes to consistently voice peace and a better world through art, especially painting,” he added.

On the same occasion, SAC 2026 Exhibition Deputy Chairman Akbar Linggaprana said that this exhibition has its own uniqueness due to the sister city collaboration between Jakarta and Berlin through guest artist Christopher Lehmpfuhl from Kornfeld Galerie Berlin.

This exhibition illustrates that art is not merely an aesthetic activity, but also an ethical act; every brushstroke, every conversation, and every encounter opens new possibilities for human relationships.

Artist Christopher Lehmpfuhl presents a visual record of the diversity of Indonesian landscapes.

The artists involved in this exhibition are Christopher Lehmpfuhl, along with all members of the SBY Art Community: Agung Fitriana, Agus TBR, Akbar Linggaprana, Bambang Sugiarto, Catur Nugroho, Cia Syamsiar, Flavia Giulietta, Guntur Wibowo, I Gede Arya Sucitra, Imam Bawon, Koelo Maryam, La Ode Umar Arsuria, Masdibyo, Naufal Abshar, Ricki Roganda Sitepu, Rizky Romansyah, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, Tjokorda Bagus Wiratmaja, Tony Siswoyo, Willy Himawan, Zusfa Roihan, as well as young artists Jaden Anders (South Tangerang), Navya Adiba Zahra (Malang), I Gusti Ayu Mirah Djelantik (Bali), Darka Astatanu Hasmanto (Yogyakarta), and Garnetta Joy Pasalli (Bandung).
