SABANG - A total of 267 permits were issued by the Sabang One-Stop Licensing and Manpower Service Agency throughout the period from January to June 2025. This achievement reflects the economic momentum and strengthening of public services in Indonesia's westernmost island city.

Head of the One-Stop Licensing and Manpower Service Agency, Faisal Azwar, stated that the figure indicates growing public awareness of the importance of business legality and increasingly accessible licensing procedures.

"We are not just talking about numbers, but also about compliance, legal awareness, and the ease of access that the public is now beginning to experience," said Faisal on Tuesday (1 July 2025).

Of the total permits issued, Online Single Submission (OSS) licences, also known as Business Identification Numbers (NIB), dominated with 155 permits, accounting for more than fifty per cent of the total. According to Faisal, this demonstrates that digital services have been well received by the public and business operators.

"Through OSS, the public can process permits from anywhere and at any time," he explained. "There is no longer any need to come and queue at the office — everything is now online-based. This is part of the bureaucratic reform that we are driving forward."

In the health sector, the agency recorded the issuance of 77 Practice Licences (SIP) for medical and healthcare professionals. This is a positive signal of the growing number of legally licensed healthcare workers in Sabang.

"Medical professionals who are legal and licensed are certainly more credible," said Faisal. "We also want to ensure that the public is treated by personnel who are legally and administratively authorised."

Meanwhile, the advertising and business promotion sector also showed encouraging activity, with 18 permits issued, reflecting the growing dynamism of MSMEs and local businesses increasingly engaging in promotional activities.
