Sabang Immigration Office, Aceh, Deports Foreign Nationals from Four Different Countries

Banda Aceh (ANTARA) - The Sabang Class II TPI Immigration Office in Aceh has carried out administrative immigration actions (TAK) in the form of deportation of four foreign nationals (WNA) who were proven to have misused their residence permits; they hail from different countries. “This firm action is the result of intensive surveillance operations conducted in the Iboih tourist area, Sabang City,” said the Head of the Sabang Class II TPI Immigration Office, Muchsin Miralza, in a statement received in Banda Aceh on Wednesday. The four foreign nationals are AEC (male from the UK), SSG (female from Portugal), CRB (female from South Africa), and JM (female from Cyprus). They were deported via Sultan Iskandar Muda International Airport (SIM) on Wednesday (29/4). The misuse of residence permits by these foreign nationals was detected based on the results of cyber surveillance and covert monitoring by the Immigration Intelligence and Enforcement Team (Inteldakim), followed by direct field examinations. Muchsin said that based on the field examinations, strong indications were found of visa misuse by these foreign nationals. Thus, they were declared to have violated Article 122 letter a of Law No. 6 of 2011 on Immigration. “As a legal consequence, the Sabang Immigration Office has taken firm steps by implementing administrative immigration actions in the form of deportation,” he stated. Muchsin added that this action is expected to provide a deterrent effect and ensure that all activities of foreigners in the Sabang area proceed in accordance with the applicable legal corridors in the Republic of Indonesia. “This is part of our commitment to safeguarding the sovereignty of the state. We urge all foreign nationals and tourism business actors in Sabang to always comply with immigration regulations and use visas for their intended purposes,” said Muchsin Miralza.
