Sabam: Perkupi ready to realise interfaith peace and Asta Cita
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Chairman of the Indonesian Pentecostal Community Harmony Association (Perkupi), Sabam Sinaga, has assured that his organisation will strive to realise interfaith peace as well as the Asta Cita, which is the primary goal of President Prabowo Subianto’s administration.
Sabam made this statement during the inauguration of Perkupi’s DKI Jakarta board in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, on Saturday.
“We at Perkupi are fully committed to strengthening the President’s Asta Cita, particularly in building harmony in religious and national life,” he said in a press release received in Jakarta.
According to Sabam, his side has taken various steps to maintain a conducive atmosphere and harmony among religious communities in Indonesia.
One of them is by building a strong organisational structure in the regions. Through a strong organisation in the regions, Sabam believes that efforts to create peace can be maximised by the cadres.
One effort to form a strong organisational structure is the inauguration of Perkupi’s DKI Jakarta board.
“Through strengthening the organisational structure in the regions, we want to become partners of the government in realising a harmonious and peaceful society,” Sabam explained.
Sabam hopes that the boards in DKI Jakarta and all regions can work together, collaborate with each other to maintain interfaith religious harmony for the creation of a peaceful situation amid diversity.
In the inauguration, Gibson Sihombing was officially installed as Chairman of the DKI Jakarta Perkupi Regional Leadership Council, accompanied by Pandior as Secretary of the Regional Leadership Council. In addition, the Chairmen of the District Leadership Councils were installed, namely Monang Sianipar, Frans Ambarita, Jonner Panjaitan, Robinson Turnip, and Ajon Hutabarat.
The inauguration event was attended by the Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Rano Karno, as well as several national figures such as Putra Nababan.
