The Central Board of Leadership (Dewan Pimpinan Pusat) of the NasDem Party, represented by Deputy Chairman and Deputy Speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly Saan Mustopa, visited Kuningan Regency. The visit was held in conjunction with the installation of the leadership of the Kuningan Regency Branch Board (Dewan Pimpinan Cabang) and the Regional Work Meeting (Rakerda) of the NasDem Party in Kuningan Regency.

During the occasion, Saan outlined several strategies to increase NasDem’s vote share in Kuningan Regency in the forthcoming 2029 general election. One priority measure emphasised was geographically-based member recruitment.

“The DPC chairman is an elder, the secretary is his child, the treasurer is the mother. This is also why our party still experiences gaps, particularly in West Java. Today’s leadership is attempting to address this gap by conducting geographically-based management recruitment. It must represent the geography that exists in its region so that the map of NasDem’s strength is evenly distributed across the entire regency, not concentrated in one place,” Saan stated on Monday, 9 March 2026.

According to Saan, geographically-based recruitment is a systematic effort to build party structure through active cells, from the central level down to the grassroots.

“We are building a party based on cells; each level has its own agenda. Building a structure based on active cells. Therefore, this structure becomes the key. Without a strong structure down to the village level, even down to the RT/RW level, victory is impossible for us to achieve. We cannot rely solely on legislative candidate figures; the party machine must move massively and in a structured manner,” Saan stated.

Whilst acknowledging that the challenges ahead are not insignificant, Saan expressed optimism that through collective hard work, NasDem is capable of achieving its target of entering the top three positions in the 2029 general election. He stressed that in political dynamics, nothing is impossible as long as it is accompanied by dedication and hard work.

“At first glance, achieving that seems heavy. But we view this heaviness as a challenge. How can we make something heavy become a reality? That is why there is such a thing as struggle. There is such a thing as striving. So striving for something heavy to feel light and become reality,” Saan stated.

To ensure that cadres remain focused in carrying out party duties, the Central Board also plans to provide employment insurance coverage for NasDem cadres in the region.

“By providing employment insurance to NasDem cadres in Kuningan Regency. Because once it has been formed, it must be activated. Do not leave it dormant. Do not allow a situation where, after one year of installation, there is no activity. I am confident that NasDem is ready to be a winner in Kuningan. As long as we struggle,” Mustopa concluded.
