Saan Mustopa Drives Nasdem Support Boost in Central Java Electoral Districts 2-3
The Deputy Chairman of the Nasdem Party’s Central Executive Board (DPP) and Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Saan Mustopa, held a consolidation meeting of the DPP and the Central Java Regional Executive Board (DPW) in Kudus, Central Java. Saan is pushing for increased support for Nasdem in electoral districts 2 and 3 of Central Java.
The consolidation meeting of the DPP and DPW of the Nasdem Party in Central Java took place as part of the 2026 Ramadan Safari at Joglo Sahabat Akhwan in Kudus. The Deputy Speaker of the MPR RI, Lestari Moerdijat, was also in attendance.
Also present were cadres from electoral districts (Dapil) 2 and 3, which include Kudus, Jepara, Demak, Pati, Rembang, Blora, and Grobogan.
The Deputy Chairman of the Nasdem Party’s DPP and Deputy Speaker of the DPR RI, Saan Mustopa, stated that, based on electoral data and surveys, Java requires special attention. He believes that support for Nasdem in Central Java is not yet evenly distributed.
“Because, according to electoral data and surveys, Java needs more attention so that Nasdem can achieve high and widespread support,” Saan explained while delivering a speech at Joglo Sahabat Akhwan Kudus on Tuesday (24/2/2026).
He added that some electoral districts in Central Java have low vote shares for Nasdem, while others have high vote shares. Districts 2 and 3, for example, are considered strong areas.
“Because support for Nasdem is not yet evenly distributed in Java, with some areas having high support and others having low support, districts 2 and 3 are already strong areas for Nasdem,” he said.
However, he acknowledged that other areas still have low support, and overall, support remains low.
“Some areas in Central Java still have low support. Because, in general, Java appears to have low electability,” he explained.
This situation motivates him to hold the Ramadan Safari in various regions, with the aim of continuously increasing support for Nasdem in those areas.
“This is what motivates us to organise the Ramadan Safari so that support in Java can be high,” he said.
He believes that areas that are already strong will be further strengthened, so that Nasdem can increase the number of seats it holds in the DPR from the 2024 elections.
“The trend in districts 2 and 3 is now to further strengthen our position while gradually planning to secure two seats in the DPR RI and two seats in the Provincial DPRD, plus Kudus, which, with these four districts, also presents a challenge for the future,” he said.
The Deputy Speaker of the MPR RI, Lestari Moerdijat, expressed optimism about regaining the highest number of votes in district 2, which includes Kudus, Demak, and Jepara.
“We are optimistic because we once obtained the second-highest number of votes in district 2, but in 2024, district 2 fell to fourth place. However, we can maintain our current position,” she explained while delivering a speech.
She believes that with perseverance and enthusiasm, they can achieve the highest number of seats. “In 2024, the challenge was quite significant, but with our perseverance, we can maintain our current position,” she said.
