S&P positively assesses Danantara's role in natural resource management, says Prabowo
President Prabowo Subianto has said that international rating agency Standard & Poor’s (S&P) has given a positive assessment of the role of Danantara Indonesia in managing the country’s natural resources.
He said observers and experts from Western countries have specifically viewed positively the role of Danantara, including the potential of PT Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia (DSI) in eradicating under-invoicing and transfer pricing practices.
“They specifically viewed positively the role of Danantara and the potential of PT Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia in eradicating under-invoicing and transfer pricing practices, which are in fact fraudulent practices,” said President Prabowo during the Government’s Introductory Statement on the Bill on the 2027 State Budget and its Financial Note at the MPR Building, Jakarta, Friday.
President Prabowo stressed that the government’s move has also drawn the attention of the international community. Standard & Poor’s on 13 July 2026 maintained Indonesia’s credit rating at BBB level with a stable outlook.
“This is the world’s recognition of the strength of the Indonesian economy, which remains in the investment grade category,” he said.
The Head of State emphasised that the assessment did not come from the government, but from an international rating agency.
Standard & Poor’s, Prabowo said, assesses that Indonesia has solid economic growth prospects, generally prudent macroeconomic policies, and a relatively prudent and sustainable debt burden compared to other peer countries.
“This is not the government’s word, this is not my word, this is their assessment of us,” President Prabowo stressed.
He added that Standard & Poor’s also assesses that the government’s efforts to centralise natural resource management and close leakages in the resource and mineral sector can increase state revenue and export foreign exchange.
