Home Affairs Minister Muhammad Tito Karnavian has expressed deep condolences over the passing of former Defence Minister Ryamizard Ryacudu. Tito visited the late general’s residence in Cikeas, Bogor, West Java, on Sunday (31 May 2026) to offer his sympathies to Ryacudu’s widow, Nora Tristyana, and the bereaved family.

Ryamizard Ryacudu died at the age of 76 at RSPAD Gatot Soebroto in Jakarta at 14:03 WIB.

“Innalillahi wa innailaihi raji’un. We are all in mourning. Personally, along with my family and the Ministry of Home Affairs, I extend our deepest condolences for the passing of General TNI Ryamizard Ryacudu. I knew the late general well as a senior and hold him in high regard,” Tito said.

He noted that the late general was respected and had close ties with various groups, including communities in southern Sumatra.

“He was one of the elders of southern Sumatra, both in South Sumatra and Lampung. I am from Palembang, South Sumatra, so I often visited him, not only for official duties but also for matters concerning our region in southern Sumatra,” Tito added.

Tito stated that Ryacudu’s passing is a significant loss for his family, friends, and all who knew and worked with him. He urged the public to pray for the deceased to receive forgiveness and a place in the hereafter, and for his family to find strength.

“Let us pray that Allah forgives all the sins of the late general during his lifetime. May He ease his journey towards the Divine, the path to the grave, expand his grave, and make it as beautiful as a garden of paradise, for death is Allah’s decree which we cannot escape,” Tito concluded.
