Ruwiyati, Suroto win 10K c'ships

SEMARANG (JP): Women's long distance runner Ruwiyati of Salatiga won the Rinnai 10K national championships here on Sunday, clocking a time of 40 minutes 10 seconds. Hanny Melon of Salatiga finished second in 41:05 followed by Erni Ulatningsih of Salatiga in 41:27.

In the men's competition, Suroto of Sragen clocked a time of 34:32 to finish first and bring home Rp 7 million (US$610). He was followed by Abdul Manan of Kudus in 34:50 and Ferry Junaidi of Salatiga in 43:57. Manan earned Rp 2 million and Ferry pocketed Rp 1.5 million.

The women's champions earned the same amount of prize money as the men.

In the men's student's event, Agus Prayoga of Salatiga was first in 37:01. Faizin of Magelang was second in 38:30 and Yusron of Semarang finished third in 39:29.

In the women's student's event, Mulyati of Salatiga was first in 45:32. Finishing second was Innaka Multilaras of Magelang in 46:13 and Kiswati of Rembang in 46:48. (har)
