Literacy is a window to the world. Through reading, we can learn about many things, understand life, and dream bigger.

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Rustini Muhaimin Iskandar, a mentor of the DPP Perempuan Bangsa and founder of Jenderal Dunia Kita, has expanded the “Ayo Membaca” movement to hundreds of children in the foothills of Mount Semeru, specifically in Ranupani, Lumajang Regency, East Java.

“Literacy is a window to the world. From reading, we can learn about many things, understand life, and dream bigger,” she stated in a comment confirmed in Jakarta on Friday.

According to her, the activity is part of efforts to broaden access to enjoyable learning for children in areas with limited resources.

She added that learning should also include understanding the surrounding environment as part of building wise and caring character towards environmental conservation.

“Ranupani is not only beautiful but also has great potential as one of Java’s lungs. We all have a responsibility to protect it,” she said.

Rustini also urged the children to continue learning and dare to dream.

“You are the hope of the future, not only for Ranupani but also for Indonesia,” she stated.

Previously, the “Ayo Membaca” movement had been promoted in several regions in Indonesia, including Barus, Central Tapanuli, North Sumatra, on 21 October 2025.
