Russian military delegation visits RI
INDONESIA: A Russian military and technical cooperation team visited Indonesia from July 25 to July 30 to strengthen collaboration between the two countries, the Russian Embassy in Jakarta said.
The Russian delegation, led by V. Lisichenko, head of the First Department of the Federal Service for Military and Technical Cooperation, held talks with Indonesian counterparts on the implementation of the bilateral agreement on military and technical cooperation signed in 2003.
The Indonesian delegation was led by the Ministry of Defense's director general for defense facilities, Vice Marshall P. Wattimena.
"The Russian and Indonesian experts exchanged views on further promotion of arms sales and technical cooperation between the two countries. Possible roles suggested for the local defense industry in future cooperative ventures including joint production, repair and maintenance, etc.," the embassy said in a press release sent to The Jakarta Post on Monday. -- JP
