Russian Foreign Minister says series of events in the Middle East stems from Western efforts to maintain dominance

Moscow (ANTARA) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Tuesday (24/3) that the series of events in the Middle East is a direct consequence of Western efforts to maintain the remnants of their dominance through force, without regard for obligations previously signed and ratified under international law. Speaking at a meeting of the fund’s board of directors in Moscow, Lavrov stated that military actions by the United States (US) and Israel against Iran would disrupt global trade and pose threats to global energy resilience as well as international transportation and business communications. Lavrov added that Russia shares its assessment of the current situation with Iran and the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council. Moscow believes that the path of negotiation, unity, and balancing interests is the most appropriate for the interests of the Middle East, said the foreign minister.
