Russia to deport 72,000 illegal foreign nationals by 2025
Moscow (ANTARA) - Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin stated that the government has deported 72,000 foreign nationals residing illegally in the country by 2025.
“The list of individuals under surveillance has finally been launched. This is an important aspect of our work. These are individuals residing illegally in Russia, with a total of approximately 840,000 people as of February 6, according to our verified data. By 2025, as a result of these new measures, 72,000 people have been deported,” Mishustin told members of parliament.
Mishustin made the statement while presenting the government’s annual report to the Duma, the lower house of the Russian parliament.
In his report, he also discussed various issues, including efforts to curb inflation, build affordable housing, raise the minimum wage, provide benefits and subsidies, and reduce taxes, as well as outlining the government’s targets for 2026.
