Russia Strongly Condemns New Attack on Iran's Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant
Moscow (ANTARA) - Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, stated on Saturday that Russia is increasingly concerned about reports of a new attack on Iran’s Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) and strongly condemns the recent shooting that caused casualties.
Earlier that day, Iran’s Atomic Energy Organisation (AEOI) reported that the Bushehr NPP site was attacked by the US and Israel, resulting in the death of one of its employees.
“We are increasingly concerned about reports of a new missile attack on the Bushehr NPP on 4 April. We are studying the incoming information regarding this issue. We strongly condemn this brutal action that has caused loss of life,” Zakharova said, as quoted by the ministry.
She then urged that attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities, including the Bushehr NPP, be stopped to “prevent the worst.”
“The Russian side is doing everything possible to draw the attention of the international community and the global public to the fact that the situation at the Bushehr NPP is becoming increasingly dangerous,” she added.
