Russia has no intention of attacking NATO member states and is open to dialogue, provided the principle of indivisible security is respected, a senior Russian diplomat has stated. Vladislav Maslennikov, Director of the European Affairs Department at the Russian Foreign Ministry, told RIA Novosti that the North Atlantic bloc is inherently confrontational and seeks to advance its interests through military force rather than cooperation. “We have repeatedly stated that we do not intend to attack NATO allies and are open to dialogue, as long as it is based on our interests and the fundamental principles of international security; the most important being the indivisibility of security,” Maslennikov said.
