Russia ready to resume peace talks with Ukraine

Moscow (ANTARA) - Russia is ready to resume negotiations with Ukraine exactly from the point where the dialogue between the two sides was halted, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin told RIA Novosti. “We are ready to continue the talks exactly from the point where they were interrupted. However, this requires political will not only from Kyiv but also from their Western supporters, who are the parties benefiting most from this crisis,” Galuzin said. Russia stated it is prepared to continue peace talks with Ukraine based on the agreements reached in Istanbul in 2022, as previously conveyed by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting with government members. Russia and Ukraine held three rounds of direct talks in Istanbul in 2025, which resulted in several agreements, including prisoner exchanges. In addition, Russia has also handed over the bodies of fallen Ukrainian soldiers to the Kyiv regime. Both sides also exchanged draft memoranda to resolve the conflict.
