Russia Places Ukraine's New Military Chief on Wanted List
Russia has placed Mykhailo Drapatyi, the newly appointed commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, on its wanted list, according to an update from the Russian Interior Ministry’s database on Tuesday. The move came just hours after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced Drapatyi’s appointment, replacing Oleksandr Syrsky. Russia’s Investigative Committee stated it had previously filed criminal charges against Drapatyi, accusing him of leading a Joint Forces Operation between 2017 and 2019 during which Ukrainian forces allegedly launched artillery strikes on settlements in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, resulting in 154 casualties. Drapatyi previously served as commander of the Ukrainian Ground Forces and commander of the Joint Forces.
