Russia leads skydiving event
JAKARTA (JP): Diving at 9,500-feet, the Russian team of four scored seven points in the relative work event of the Kopassus Open international skydiving championships. This gives them the lead at the end of the third day of the event, held in Serang, West Java on Tuesday.
The National Police's Polsugar-A team closely trailed with six points, followed by the Air Force's skydiving club PTP which collected three points in the opening round of the five-stage competition.
Executive chairman of the committee Lt. Col. M. Noer Muis said the relative work event entirely depended on the weather, but he hoped to see the competition complete by Sunday, the final day of the one-week meet.
Meanwhile, Ema Kusumawati of the National Air Force's PTP-B became the first women's chutist to land right on the "zero point" in the individual accuracy event. (amd)
