Russia Launches New Attack on Ukraine, Kyiv Struck by Hypersonic Missiles

Russia launched a massive missile and drone assault on Kyiv early Sunday (24 May 2026), Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed the use of advanced Oreshnik hypersonic missiles in the attack. The Oreshnik missile is reported to travel over ten times the speed of sound, with no known current technology capable of intercepting it. Attacks on a school triggered a fire, and strikes on a business centre left people trapped in shelters.
