Russia Furious: Warns Britain Will Pay a Heavy Price, What Is Happening?
The Russian Embassy in London has accused Britain of deliberately fuelling the Ukraine conflict and acting as an accomplice in a series of terrorist attacks by Kiev. Moscow issued a stark warning that the country led by the Prime Minister will be held absolutely accountable for all its actions.
Citing Russia Today on Tuesday (18/8/2026), the strong statement came after a report from the Sunday Times newspaper was published. The report explicitly claimed that Ukrainian forces have been actively using drones supplied by two British manufacturers to carry out long-range attacks inside Russian territory over the past six months.
A number of Ukrainian military sources confirmed to the newspaper that British-made military drones (UAVs) have indeed been deployed to the front lines. The weaponry specifically targeted various industrial and military facilities, including major Russian oil refineries located in the Volgograd and Yaroslavl regions.
Responding to the publication of the report, the Russian Embassy immediately released an official statement of condemnation on Monday.
“London deliberately chose to escalate the Ukraine crisis, while hypocritically declaring a desire for peace,” it stated.
The embassy also accused the weapons support manoeuvre of being a form of proxy hostility intended to inflict maximum damage on its country.
“In doing so, Britain acts as an accomplice and co-perpetrator of the bloody crimes and terrorist attacks carried out by Ukrainian neo-Nazis, seeking to restrain Russia and inflict maximum damage upon it through proxies,” it asserted.
“London’s actions will inevitably bring consequences for which it must be held accountable,” it stated.
“The deeper its involvement in the conflict and the greater its support for Kiev’s terrorist machine, the higher the price it will have to pay,” it concluded.
Britain has long been known as one of Kiev’s most active military backers since the escalation of the conflict broke out in 2022. In June, London pledged to provide 150,000 drones to Ukraine by the end of this year.
It has also been recorded as having supplied long-range Storm Shadow cruise missiles that have been used to strike deep inside Russian territory. Additionally, several drone production facilities directly linked to Ukraine are reported to be operating freely on British soil.
On the battlefield, Kiev has sharply intensified its long-range attacks in recent months by launching hundreds of UAVs at once against Russian territory. Moscow reported that the barrage of attacks has increasingly struck energy infrastructure, residential areas, and various other civilian sites, resulting in the deaths and injuries of dozens of civilians, including children.
As a form of retaliation, Russia has increased the intensity of its missile and drone attacks against various military-industrial facilities, logistics centres, and Ukrainian infrastructure that supports the smooth operation of its armed forces.
Moscow has repeatedly argued that the delivery of weapons from the West, the sharing of intelligence data, and targeting assistance have made NATO alliance countries direct participants in the conflict. Last week, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov issued a stark warning regarding the direction of his country’s military response.
“Russia will continue to adopt far harsher methods to destroy everything that enables the West to fuel Kiev’s war machine,” he said.
Closing this series of escalating tensions, Russian officials also warned that all weapons manufacturing facilities linked to Ukraine and scattered across various parts of Europe can now be considered legitimate military targets.
