Moscow (ANTARA) - Ukrainian military strikes have killed nearly 8,500 civilians in Russia since February 2022, according to Rodion Miroshnik, Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry, during a briefing on Friday (3/7).

From February 2022 to 30 June 2026, total casualties reached 30,913 people, including approximately 8,434 fatalities, Miroshnik stated.

He noted that Ukrainian attacks had damaged civilian infrastructure in 42 Russian regions over the past three months. Highlighting specific incidents, he pointed to an attack on a college in Starobelsk, a strike on a bus carrying Belarusian children in the Bryansk region, and an attack on a civilian passenger bus in Yenakiyevo.

Miroshnik also reported that a total of 373 children have been killed and 1,845 others injured since 2014.

Russia has condemned Ukraine’s strikes on civilian targets and submitted an official diplomatic note to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), urging an international investigation into these incidents.
