Russia launched attacks on the frontline city of Kramatorsk in eastern Ukraine. The regional governor said four people, including three energy-sector workers, were killed.

“Today, the Russian side attacked the city three times. One strike targeted employees of a heating services company who were checking the network’s readiness for the heating season; three of them were killed,” Governor Vadym Filashkin said on social media, AFP reported on Wednesday (10 October 2026).

Filashkin said another person was killed in an attack by a first-person-view (FPV) drone. He added that six people were wounded in the attacks on Kramatorsk on Tuesday.

Ukraine’s Energy Ministry also commented on the deaths of the three energy workers. It said the men, who worked for Kramatorskteploenergo, were killed when three guided aerial bombs struck a residential area of the city.

“They were carrying out their duties, providing heating services to residents of a frontline city,” the ministry said in a statement on Telegram.

Russia continues to attack Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, disrupting electricity supplies and raising fears of shortages and heating system failures as the country faces an extreme winter.

The electricity grid operator said security problems were also hampering workers’ efforts to repair damaged equipment and facilities.
