Moscow (ANTARA) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi on Sunday (5/4) called for the immediate cessation of attacks on Iran’s civilian and energy infrastructure, according to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In a telephone conversation, the two ministers stressed the importance of stopping “reckless and illegal” attacks on civilian, industrial, and energy facilities, including the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant (NPP). They warned that such actions could pose threats to the lives and health of workers at the NPP and potentially trigger a radioactive disaster affecting a wider area. Lavrov hopes that efforts by several countries to ease tensions around Iran will bear fruit, while adding that the United States’ decision to stop using ultimatum language and return to the path of negotiations will be very important.
