Rupiah Weakens, Jetour Assures Car Prices Will Not Rise
BEIJING, KOMPAS.com – The weakening of the rupiah’s exchange rate, reaching Rp17,300 per US dollar, typically triggers an increase in vehicle prices. However, Jetour has assured that this does not immediately affect the selling prices of its products in Indonesia. Moch Ranggy Radiansyah, Marketing Director of PT Jetour Sales Indonesia, stated that the company remains committed to keeping prices competitive amid global economic pressures. According to him, Jetour’s pricing strategy has already considered various future scenarios, including exchange rate fluctuations. This allows the company not to rush into price adjustments during economic turbulence. One factor supporting this price stability is the local assembly (CKD) of several Jetour models in Indonesia. With domestic production, the impact of the rupiah’s weakening on import costs can be minimised. Currently, Jetour markets several models in Indonesia, such as the Jetour T2 starting at Rp588 million, Jetour Dashing starting at Rp348.8 million, and Jetour X70 Plus starting at Rp359.8 million. With a long-term projected pricing strategy and a focus on product efficiency, Jetour is striving to maintain consumer purchasing power, even as economic pressures and rising fuel prices continue to pose challenges in the national automotive market.
