JAKARTA, investortrust.id - President Director of PT ITSEC Asia Tbk (CYBR), Patrick Rudolf Dannacher, said the group remains optimistic about its business prospects amid the rupiah’s weakness against the US dollar. Patrick acknowledged that currency volatility is a challenge for many companies in Indonesia, particularly those that still rely on imports of devices and technology from abroad. ‘It is not easy for every company in Indonesia, especially if you have a lot of imports,’ he told reporters in Jakarta on Thursday, 21 May 2026. Nevertheless, Patrick regards the rupiah depreciation as temporary. He believes the government and Bank Indonesia (BI) have taken the right steps to maintain macroeconomic stability. He added, ‘I am fairly confident that things will improve from our current position going forward. I think the leadership of the country and the Central Bank are taking the right steps for the future.’ According to Patrick, the impact of currency fluctuations on ITSEC is relatively limited because the company invests and develops cybersecurity solutions domestically to a greater extent. This strategy is part of strengthening national technology sovereignty. ‘We have invested mostly domestically; we largely produce domestically. So we are not heavily dependent on foreign exchange,’ he said. ITSEC also emphasises it will continue to reinforce the development of local products and sovereign-technology-based cybersecurity services. The company believes technology autonomy is a crucial factor in sustaining long-term business growth amid global dynamics.
