The exchange rate of the Rupiah has come under renewed pressure, breaking through the level of Rp17,926 per US Dollar today.

An observation at a money changer in the Kebon Sirih area of Jakarta at 11:45 AM showed the US Dollar selling at Rp17,920 and buying at Rp17,970. For the Singapore Dollar, the selling rate was Rp14,035 and the buying rate was Rp14,056, while the Australian Dollar was priced at a selling rate of Rp12,915 and a buying rate of Rp12,835.

At a different location, the Ayu Masagung foreign exchange centre in the Kwitang area, observations at 12:10 PM showed the US Dollar selling at Rp18,060 and buying at Rp17,885. The Singapore Dollar was trading at a selling rate of Rp14,050 and a buying rate of Rp13,975.

Meanwhile, the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) announced that Indonesia’s trade balance for April 2026 recorded a surplus of US$ 90 million. This surplus represents a significant shrinkage compared to the March 2026 figure, which stood at US$ 3.32 billion.
