Rupiah Today 21 August 2026: Stagnant at Rp17,748

The rupiah exchange rate against the US dollar was observed moving stagnant at the opening of trading on Friday (21/8). Based on spot market data, the rupiah showed no change in position compared to the previous trading close.

At this morning’s trading opening, the rupiah moved flat by 0 points or 0.00 percent to a position of Rp17,748 per US dollar. This figure is exactly the same as the previous day’s closing level, which also stood at Rp17,748 per US dollar.

The relatively flat market condition indicates that market participants are still awaiting new sentiment, both from domestic and global sources. Although it opened stagnant, the rupiah’s movement throughout the day is predicted to remain influenced by the dynamics of the United States economy as well as domestic macroeconomic data releases.
