Rupiah Today 10 June 2026: Strengthens, Returns to Rp17,900

The rupiah exchange rate showed an impressive performance at the opening of trading on Wednesday, 10 June 2026. Based on market data received up to 09.00 WIB, the rupiah moved sharply stronger against the United States (US) dollar. The rupiah was recorded as soaring by 158 points or strengthening 0.88% to a position of Rp17,900 per US dollar. This position is much stronger compared to the previous day’s trading close, which was at the level of Rp18,058 per US dollar. The significant strengthening of the Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) today indicates positive sentiment in the domestic financial market. The rupiah’s return below the psychological level of Rp18,000 provides a signal of optimism for market participants and investors amidst global economic dynamics. Technically, a strengthening of 0.88% in one opening session is a sizeable leap for the rupiah currency. This is usually triggered by a combination of a globally weakening US dollar index (DXY) and foreign capital flows entering the domestic financial market (inflow). Analysts estimate that the rupiah still has the potential to move fluctuatively throughout the day with a tendency for limited strengthening. Market participants are still advised to monitor the release of macroeconomic data, both domestically and regarding the interest rate policy of the US central bank (The Fed), which remains the main driver of the global foreign exchange market.
