He noted that mitigation steps are being taken to maintain the inflation rate, especially from volatile food prices and production costs that could potentially drive up goods prices. The government will also address volatile food components to prevent them from pressuring inflation and is monitoring the impact of rising packaging costs on food products. Additionally, Bank Indonesia claims its independence is recognised by global rating agencies, following a report from S&P Global Ratings regarding Indonesia’s debt rating and outlook. S&P continues to trust the independence of Indonesia’s monetary authority, which was able to raise the benchmark interest rate (BI-Rate) to 5.75 percent. This independence is also supported by sustainable fiscal authority policies, enabling the monetary authority to implement positive policies for the Indonesian economy. Bank Indonesia remains committed to strengthening its policy mix encompassing monetary, macroprudential, and payment systems to bolster stability and encourage sustainable economic growth. The rupiah is expected to trade in a fluctuating manner within the range of Rp 17,986 to Rp 18,030.
