Rupiah Slumps Further Past Rp18,000 Threshold, Touches Rp18,040 Against US Dollar

The Indonesian rupiah’s exchange rate against the United States dollar came under increasing pressure during midday trading on Thursday (4/6/2026). This depreciation deepened compared to its earlier position. At 09.11 Western Indonesia Time, the rupiah had already surpassed the psychological level of Rp18,000/US, reachingRp18, 015/US, representing a depreciation of 0.42%. Pressure on the rupiah was also evident from the start of this morning’s trading, opening down 0.11% at Rp17,960/US.WithitspositionatRp18, 040/US, the rupiah has once again recorded a new all-time low against the US dollar.
