Rupiah Rebounds to Rp 17,083 per US Dollar, Asian Currencies Show Mixed Movements
JAKARTA - The rupiah exchange rate in the spot market rebounded at the start of trading on Friday (10/4/2026). The Garuda currency opened at the level of Rp 17,083 per US dollar. That position strengthened slightly by 0.04 percent compared to the previous day’s close at Rp 17,090 per US dollar. Currency movements in the Asian region were observed to be varied. The Malaysian ringgit recorded the largest strengthening after rising 0.35 percent against the US dollar. Meanwhile, the Hong Kong dollar also strengthened slightly by 0.04 percent. On the other hand, the Thai baht became the currency with the deepest weakening in Asia after falling 0.42 percent. Weakening was also experienced by the South Korean won, which corrected by 0.29 percent, followed by the Japanese yen weakening by 0.06 percent. The Singapore dollar fell slightly by 0.03 percent. Meanwhile, the Chinese yuan weakened limitedly, namely 0.006 percent against the US dollar in this morning’s trading. On the other hand, the Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) is currently strengthening by 151.02 points or 2.07 percent to the level of 7,458.610 in Friday’s trading. For activity, the transaction volume reached 18.46 billion shares with a transaction value of Rp 7.86 trillion and the frequency of trades exceeding 1.07 million transactions. The strengthening of the IHSG was also supported by the dominance of rising stocks. It was recorded that 449 stocks strengthened, far higher than 186 stocks that weakened, while 175 other stocks were stagnant.
