Rupiah Exchange Rate Holds Above Rp17,000 per US Dollar

The government assesses that the rupiah’s weakening, which briefly reached Rp17,300 per US dollar, was triggered by increasing global pressures that also shook currencies in the region. Nevertheless, the government along with Bank Indonesia will continue to monitor market movements to maintain rupiah stability amid still high volatility.
