JAKARTA – The weakening of the rupiah against the US dollar, which recently breached the Rp17,700 level, is beginning to generate concerns within the automotive industry.

Amid threats of increased vehicle maintenance costs, Auto2000 has prepared an alternative through the use of spare parts with prices more competitive than regular components.

This product is designed to address consumer needs to obtain guaranteed quality whilst reducing maintenance costs.

“For customers who purchase new vehicles, most already receive T-Care, which provides free service and parts up to the seventh service,” said Anton in an interview with Kompas.com on 22 May 2026.

“For others, we will certainly monitor the customer situation and if needed, we can create more specific programmes,” he added.

“Auto2000 also operates Otoxpert workshops in several locations offering affordable parts and services – this is an option, especially for vehicles that have been in use for more than five years. This is complemented by T-OPT parts, which are priced more affordably,” Anton explained.

Regarding quality, T-OPT is claimed to maintain standards as it is developed directly by Toyota Astra Motor (TAM).

The product encompasses various fast-moving components including brake pads, brake shoes, cabin filters, fuel filters, engine oil filters, air filters, wiper blades, v-belts, clutch discs, clutch covers, and clutch bearings for manual transmissions.

Availability has also been expanded to include the Corolla Altis, Kijang, Voxy, Raize, Etios Valco, and commercial vehicles such as the Hiace and Dyna.

Previously, Marketing Director of PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM), Bansar Maduma, stated that since its launch in 2024, T-OPT has been positioned as a Toyota alternative spare parts brand with competitive pricing.

“As a product with high competitiveness by virtue of adhering to Toyota quality standards, T-OPT has successfully addressed the needs of customers seeking quality components at competitive prices,” Bansar said in an official statement on 21 May 2026.
