Rupiah Continues to Weaken, US Dollar Nears Rp 18,000

The exchange rate of the rupiah against the United States (US) dollar has continued to plummet. According to Bloomberg data on Monday (6/7/2026) at 10.16 Western Indonesia Time, the value of the US currency stood at 17,993, up 30 points (0.17%). This means the dollar is just shy of reaching Rp 18,000. The US dollar also strengthened uniformly against other currencies. The dollar’s exchange rate rose 0.21% against the Australian dollar and 0.03% against the euro. Similarly, the US dollar strengthened 0.05% against the Singapore dollar, 0.13% against the Chinese yuan, 0.29% against the Japanese yen, 0.10% against the Thai baht, and 0.12% against the Malaysian ringgit.
