Running for BI Governor, Here is Destry Damayanti's Vision!

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Bank Indonesia (BI) Governor candidate Destry Damayanti revealed her vision and mission for leading the central bank during a fit and proper test at Commission XI of the House of Representatives (DPR) on Wednesday (26/8/2026).

She said that under her leadership, the vision and mission theme would be Sinergi Merah Putih for the Welfare of the Indonesian People. This theme is closely related to the central bank’s efforts to maintain stability and promote sustainable economic growth.

“Our vision is to make Bank Indonesia an institution that remains relevant in responding to challenges and credible in maintaining stability, and promoting sustainable economic growth,” said Destry.

She emphasised that this vision would be achieved through three missions, the first being to maintain stability as a foundation for supporting sustainable economic growth.

“This first mission is in line with BI’s mandate, namely achieving rupiah exchange rate stability, maintaining the payment system, and participating in maintaining financial system stability in order to support sustainable economic growth,” Destry stressed.

Second, BI’s mission is to support sustainable growth, which is an integrated part of the first mission, namely maintaining stability.

“This mission ensures that stability can move in balance and continuity with economic growth,” Destry stressed.

Third, the mission is to strengthen synergy with various stakeholders through the Sinergi Merah Putih.

“This mission confirms that BI will coordinate closely with the government, authorities, and various parties in responding to the various challenges that remain strong and achieving Indonesia 2045,” said Destry.
