Rumour Haji Isam to Control 62.2% of BYAN Shares, JARR Finally Speaks Out
PT Jhonlin Agro Raya Tbk (JARR), an issuer owned by conglomerate Andi Syamsuddin Arsyad, also known as Haji Isam, has spoken out regarding rumours of a majority stake acquisition in PT Bayan Resources Tbk (BYAN).
Circulating reports suggested that Jhonlin Group would take over approximately 62.2 percent of BYAN shares. The rumour drew attention in the capital market and raised questions about Jhonlin Group’s corporate action plans.
However, JARR management has confirmed that, as of now, neither the company nor the group has any plans to acquire BYAN shares.
JARR President Director Indra Irawan said the company was not aware of any information regarding the planned majority acquisition of BYAN shares.
“As of the date of this letter, the Company and the Group have no plans to acquire shares of PT Bayan Resources Tbk (BYAN),” Indra stated in an information disclosure, quoted on Thursday, 20 August 2026.
In addition to confirming that there are no acquisition plans, JARR also stated that it has not received confirmation or official notification regarding the matter from its controlling shareholder or Ultimate Beneficial Owner (UBO).
In this case, the UBO of JARR is Haji Isam. Indra said that as of the date of the information disclosure, the company had not received official notification regarding any plans or material information related to the acquisition of BYAN shares.
“As of the date of this letter, the Company has not received confirmation or official notification from the Controlling Shareholder or Ultimate Beneficial Owner regarding any plans or Material Information/Facts concerning the acquisition of shares of PT Bayan Resources Tbk (BYAN),” Indra emphasised.
JARR management also assured that the rumour has not affected the company’s share price movement.
Thus, as of the time the information disclosure was submitted, there has been no official confirmation from JARR regarding Jhonlin Group’s plans to take over a majority stake in BYAN.
Prior to JARR’s explanation, BYAN management had also spoken out regarding the reported acquisition plan by Jhonlin Group.
BYAN Corporate Secretary Jenny Quantero said the company was not aware of any takeover or acquisition plans for BYAN shares as circulated in public information.
