Rumah Zakat's Fresh Post Supports Forest and Land Fire Officers and Volunteers

Rumah Zakat has opened a Pos Segar (Refreshment Post) to provide support to officers and volunteers on the frontline of forest and land fire (karhutla) handling in the city of Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan.

Amid challenging air and weather conditions caused by the fires, the Pos Segar has been set up to help meet the refreshment and support needs of officers and volunteers involved in firefighting efforts in the field.

Through the Pos Segar, Rumah Zakat provides various supplies such as drinking water, vitamins, light snacks, fruit and other necessities to help maintain stamina while duties are carried out.

This support reflects Rumah Zakat’s care for those working in high-risk conditions. Officers and volunteers must contend with heat, smoke and difficult terrain throughout the firefighting process.

“Through this Pos Segar, we want to provide simple yet meaningful support to the officers and volunteers fighting in the field. We hope what we offer can help maintain their stamina and boost their spirits,” said Mustaqim, coordinator of Rumah Zakat volunteers in Banjarmasin.

In addition to providing direct support to officers and volunteers, Rumah Zakat is also encouraging the public to heighten their vigilance against the potential for forest and land fires.

Members of the public are expected to help protect the environment and avoid activities that could trigger forest and land fires.

Rumah Zakat also hopes that synergy among various parties in fire handling can continue to be strengthened. Such collaboration is important so that firefighting, prevention and community protection efforts can run optimally.
