Rumah Zakat Provides Refreshment Posts and Multivitamins for Forest Firefighters

Rumah Zakat is providing support to officers and volunteers currently struggling to manage forest and land fires (karhutla) in Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan. This support is delivered through the Rumah Zakat ‘Pos Segar’ (Refreshment Post) service. These posts serve as a place for officers and volunteers to take a brief rest before or after performing firefighting duties.

At the Refreshment Post, personnel can utilise the time to recover their stamina and receive nutritional intake while engaged in forest fire management activities. In addition to providing the Refreshment Post, Rumah Zakat volunteers are also distributing multivitamins to the officers and volunteers heading to the fire sites.

This support is part of Rumah Zakat’s concern for the condition of personnel who require strength and fitness while carrying out their duties in the field. The process of extinguishing forest fires requires significant physical activity and extended periods of time. Therefore, simple support for these officers is a vital part of maintaining their morale during their service.

“This support is a form of Rumah Zakat’s care for the officers and volunteers on the front lines of forest fire management. We hope the Refreshment Post and multivitamins provided can help maintain their stamina while performing their duties,” said a Rumah Zakat volunteer in Palangka Raya.
