Rumah Zakat has established a ‘Pos Segar’ service at the site of forest and land fire (karhutla) suppression in Pandahan Village, Bati-Bati District, Tanah Laut Regency, South Kalimantan.

The Refreshment Post was introduced as a form of support for officers and volunteers currently struggling to extinguish the flames on-site.

Through this service, Rumah Zakat is providing various necessities to help maintain the freshness and stamina of the personnel while they carry out their duties. The aid distributed includes 50 cups of chilled syrup, 200 vitamins, 5.5 kilograms of watermelon, 2.5 kilograms of melon, and one crate of bottled mineral water.

These various forms of assistance were distributed directly to the officers and volunteers stationed at the fire suppression site.

The syrup, fruit, and mineral water serve as refreshing sustenance for those working in the field, while the vitamins are provided as additional support to meet their health needs during their service.

The process of extinguishing forest and land fires requires significant energy and time. Personnel must also work amidst hot environmental conditions filled with smoke.

The presence of the Refreshment Post is expected to serve as a simple support space for officers and volunteers to revitalise themselves and meet their needs while the suppression process is underway.

In its implementation, Rumah Zakat is coordinating with the authorities on-site to ensure that aid is distributed accurately to the officers and volunteers in need.

Through the opening of this Refreshment Post, Rumah Zakat aims to provide support to those on the front lines of forest and land fire management.

It is hoped that this assistance will provide benefits, maintain morale, and support the smooth execution of the officers’ duties throughout the fire suppression process.
