Rumah Zakat and Gekrafs Sign MoU to Optimise ZIS Funds from Creative Economy Practitioners
Rumah Zakat has formally established a strategic partnership with Gerakan Ekonomi Kreatif Nasional (Gekrafs) through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on Friday, 27 February 2026 at the DKI Jakarta Representative Office.
The MoU was signed by Chief Marketing Officer of Rumah Zakat Didi Sabir and Chairman of Gekrafs’ Autonomous Body for Social Care Aresdi Mahdi Asyathry (commonly known as Habib AMA). The collaboration represents a strategic step in strengthening synergy between Indonesia’s philanthropic institutions and creative economy community.
The collaboration aims to optimise the potential of Zakat, Infaq, and Sedekah (ZIS) funds, particularly from creative economy practitioners within the Gekrafs network. With the significant potential of the creative economy sector, both parties see an opportunity to increase social contributions with broad impact for society.
In its implementation, the partnership will optimise Rumah Zakat’s role as a National Zakat Management Institution through various fundraising strategies, whilst leveraging Gekrafs’ network and communities across multiple regions to expand education, socialisation, and ZIS fund collection.
Through this MoU, Rumah Zakat and Gekrafs aim to create a sustainable collaboration capable of strengthening community empowerment and driving creative economy growth oriented towards values of social responsibility.
