Rule on speed bumps needed
Rule on speed bumps needed
From Warta Kota
With reference to a report in Warta Kota on Dec. 14, titled
Minivan drivers protest against speed bumps, I would like to
convey my complaint and proposal on the same matter.
I live in Bambu Apus, on the outskirts of East Jakarta, where
permanent speed bumps are located not only on main roads, but
also on small lanes.
The bumps come in various sizes, but some are so tall that
even motorcycles find it difficult to pass over them.
My suggestion is that the Jakarta provincial administration
issue a regional regulation on speed bumps so that residents will
not build such bumps wherever they want.
The height of the bumps should be specified to prevent them
from damaging shock absorbers. Meanwhile, citizens should build
speed bumps only where necessary.
