Rudy Susmanto Reaffirms Bogor Regency's Commitment to Accelerate Tuberculosis Control
Bogor Regency Regent Rudy Susmanto has reaffirmed his commitment to accelerating tuberculosis (TB) control efforts in Bogor Regency. This will be accomplished through strengthened collaboration between the central government and regional authorities.
Susmanto made these remarks whilst receiving a visit from the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Home Affairs aimed at promoting the acceleration of TB control. The visit took place at Cimandala Health Centre (Puskesmas) in Sukaraja on Thursday, 26 February 2026. Present at the event were Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Akhmad Wiyagus, Deputy Minister of Health Dr Benyamin Paulus Octavianus, and officials from Bogor Regency Government, Forkopimda (regional leadership coordination body), and the District Health Service.
According to Regent Rudy, the activities were held at two locations as part of concrete efforts to strengthen healthcare services. The first location was one of the primary health centres serving as the frontline of healthcare provision at the grassroots level. “Puskesmas play a crucial role in early detection, patient support, and ensuring TB treatment compliance,” said Rudy.
Subsequently, the Bogor Regency Government convened all healthcare sector stakeholders at the Multi-Purpose Room I in the Regional Secretariat. The activity was attended by health centre heads, nurses, sub-district heads, and health volunteers who form the backbone of field-level service delivery.
According to Rudy, accelerating TB control has become part of his and Deputy Regent Ade Ruhandi’s vision and mission. This vision aligns with the policy direction of the President of the Republic of Indonesia in strengthening healthcare services and controlling communicable diseases.
“As one of Indonesia’s most populous regencies, the challenges we face are certainly significant. TB control cannot be addressed in isolation, but must be pursued through collaboration and coordination with all stakeholders,” said Rudy.
He expressed hope that through inter-ministerial coordination and strengthening the role of health workers at the sub-district and village levels, efforts to accelerate TB control in Bogor Regency will proceed more effectively and have a significant impact on reducing case numbers in the community.
