Rudi Margono Appointed Acting Jampidsus Following Febrie Adriansyah's Resignation
Rudi Margono has been appointed as the Acting Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus), replacing Febrie Adriansyah who has resigned. The appointment was formalised through a decree issued by Attorney General ST Burhanuddin on Saturday, 11 July 2026.
Kapuspenkum of the Attorney General’s Office, Anang Supriatna, stated that the Attorney General appointed Rudi Margono, who currently serves as the Junior Attorney General for Oversight (Jamwas), to carry out the duties of the Acting Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes. This follows the acceptance of Febrie Adriansyah’s resignation.
Rudi Margono has held various strategic positions within the Attorney General’s Office. He previously served as Assistant for Special Crimes at the DKI Jakarta High Prosecutor’s Office, Deputy Head of the Nusa Tenggara Timur High Prosecutor’s Office, and Deputy Head of the Yogyakarta High Prosecutor’s Office. He was also a Director within the Junior Attorney General for Civil and State Administration before becoming the Head of the Kepulauan Riau High Prosecutor’s Office. In 2024, he served as the Head of the DKI Jakarta High Prosecutor’s Office and was later appointed as the Head of the Attorney General’s Education and Training Agency. At the end of 2024, he was assigned to his current role as Junior Attorney General for Oversight.
Margono also has experience as a prosecutor for the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). During his tenure, he handled several high-profile cases, including the prosecution of former Bank Indonesia Deputy Governor Aulia Pohan, who is also the in-law of the 6th President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. As the KPK public prosecutor, Margono sought a four-year prison sentence for Pohan. He also managed the case of former Kepulauan Riau Governor Ismeth Abdullah, who was implicated in a fire engine procurement scandal. In 2008, Margono was appointed as the Head of the Supervisory Team for the Bank Indonesia Liquidity Assistance (BLBI) case by then KPK Chairman Antasari Azhar. In 2023, he participated in the selection for the KPK Deputy for Enforcement and was the only prosecutor to reach the final six candidates.
The resignation of Febrie Adriansyah was accepted by the Attorney General on the same day. The Attorney General’s Office stated that the decision was a form of commitment to maintaining integrity, objectivity, and neutrality in the law enforcement process, given an ongoing legal process being conducted by investigators of the Indonesian National Police. The office assured that all duties and case handling within the Special Crimes division would continue to function normally and in accordance with applicable mechanisms, while urging all parties to respect the ongoing legal process and uphold the presumption of innocence.
