Rubio predicts shift in global energy supply after US-Iran conflict
Washington (ANTARA) - US Senator Marco Rubio stated that the world will experience a major shift in global energy supply sources after the US-Iran conflict, with the US expected to become a larger energy supplier to the Indo-Pacific region.
This shift has already begun, although it will take time to expand capacity, he said during a hearing of the US House Foreign Affairs Committee on Wednesday.
A US-Israel military conflict against Iran could also trigger a de facto blockade of the Strait of Hormuz—a major route for oil and LNG from the Persian Gulf—which would push up global energy prices.
