Ruben Onsu Speaks Out After Being Named Suspect in Investment Fraud Case
Ruben Onsu has spoken out regarding the South Jakarta Metro Police’s decision to name him a suspect in an alleged case of fraud and embezzlement in investment. He apologised for the situation as the legal process unfolds.
“In connection with the news circulating recently, I apologise for the situation,” he said via his official Instagram account on Saturday (22/8/2026).
Ruben said that before the matter entered the legal domain, he had already tried to find a way out, but had not succeeded.
On the other hand, Ruben said he was trying to gather evidence related to his legal process, with the aim of demonstrating the consistency of the data and statements involved. The problem, Ruben said, is that several people who previously worked with him no longer work there and are difficult to contact to be held accountable, making the situation more complicated.
Even so, Ruben is committed to remaining responsible and to resolving this matter in a good way.
Chronology of the case
For information, the South Jakarta Metro Police have named celebrity Ruben Onsu (RSO) as a suspect. Ruben was named a suspect over an alleged case of fraud and embezzlement in investment.
“A few days ago a case review was held, and from that case review, the participants agreed that the reported party, RSO, should have his status changed to suspect. A letter naming him as a suspect was then issued,” said South Jakarta Metro Police Head of Public Relations, AKP Joko Adiwibowo, as quoted by detik.
Joko explained that the report against Ruben is registered under number LP/B/310/VIII/2025/SPKT/Polres Jakarta Selatan, dated 22 August 2025. The complainant in this case has the initials P, while the victim has the initials DM.
“The chronology is that the reported party has a business, then offered the victim the opportunity to invest funds. The victim was then interested in carrying out the agreement between the victim and the reported party,” Joko said.
“An agreement was then made in which the victim handed over a sum of capital, with a promised profit arrangement,” he added.
In the report, Ruben Onsu is said to have never provided the profits and capital paid by the victim. As a result, Ruben was reported to the South Jakarta Metro Police.
Police will summon Ruben Onsu for questioning in his capacity as a suspect. The examination is scheduled to take place next week.
“We have only just named him as a suspect, so of course we will schedule a summons for him in his status as a suspect,” he said.
